the Early Learning Program
The Early Learning Program serves children 18 months through age 3… Toddlers and young preschoolers participate in developmental milestone activities throughout the day. Experiences are associated with the Missouri Early Learning Standards, which include statewide goals for literacy, mathematical thinking, physical development, social and emotional skills, and positive approaches to learning. Additionally, curricular activities include weekly opportunities to learn about Jesus as a Friend and Savior, as they follow the church year calendar. Teachers and assistants provide early educational experiences with tender loving care in a welcoming, Christ-centered environment for young learners. A flexible schedule allows for large and small group experiences and lots of purposeful play. Children may begin attending the Early Learning Center when they are 18 months old. Schedules include half day, lunch bunch, full day, and before and after school sessions.
Classroom Communities
Our classrooms are comprised of mixed age groups: 18 months to 3 years of age. Research has demonstrated that classrooms composed of learners with a range of abilities and gifts will have measurable gains in leadership skills, pro-social behavior, independence and competence in cooperative learning abilities. Older learners nurture younger learners and all children benefit from collaborative learning strategies |
Lunch Bunch
Lunch Bunch Is available to students that are enrolled in the Half Day Early Learning Program. It runs from 11:00 am-12:30 pm everyday and parents may choose any number of days. Lunch Bunch children bring their own lunch and drink, and enjoy additional time with classmates and extended activities. |
Christi Wegner
Teacher Assistant
My name is Christi Wegener and I am married to Cory. We have two children, Caitlyn (11) and Caileigh (6), both of whom are attending Zion.
My favorite things are enjoying time with my family, vacations to the beach, swimming, and scrapbooking.
I have worked at Zion for two years and really enjoy watching the children grow and learn.
It is so wonderful share the love of Jesus in the classroom. My favorite bible verse is:
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest thing these is love.
