I think Fall is trying to finally make appearance we experienced some cooler weather and when we were walking to the commons to play today we noticed lots of leaves on the ground that have fallen off the trees. Our Thursday was a great one no tears from anyone and the amount of wonderful independent play that was taking place in our classroom was so wonderful to observe and witness. We have been busy making things for our wall in our classroom be sure and check it out over the next week or so. It has been a labor of love since September and all my little friends have worked so hard to make it look spectacular! For those of you who have not been able to visit our classroom I will take a picture of it over the next week for you to see. Be sure and check the hallways as well for what we have been busy doing in the classroom. Enjoy viewing our day below of all the fun we had..........
Beginning of the Day
We enjoyed hunting for turkeys, apples and pumpkins today in the sensory table. We are really working hard at keeping whatever we have in our sensory table in the sensory table and not on the floor or other parts of the classroom. We had fun with a little house out of a cardboard box that Mrs. Wegener donated to our classroom. There were lots of giggles and laughing going on inside the house! We also enjoyed building with some blocks and working our creative, imaginative and problem solving skills as we created all different types of things. Some Halloween Decor was available for us to play and explore with and we enjoyed using our pre-writing skills as we colored with chalk on the chalk board today.

Centers:
3 SPIDERS: Today we used a black ink pad to make three thumb prints that we turned into black spiders. We then used a marker to make a web for each spider and the legs. We were able to work on our counting skills as we counted 3 spiders and 3 webs, we also worked on counting skills as drew 8 legs on our spiders. Our pre-writing skills came into play as well as we had to have control of the marker to make our webs and legs. Some friends needed help and that is ok we are all here and the beginning learning stage and this is the way our classroom is designed all about exposure.
BAT PAINTINGS; Today we used orange and black paint to paint a piece of purple paper. What was unique about this was we did not use a paint brush we used clothes pins and cotton balls to paint our paper and when we were finished we took off the pattern of a bat and you can see the bat outline they turned out great!
PUMPKIN PAINTING: Today on the art Easel everyone got the opportunity to help paint a jack o'lantern orange, we will be displaying a different pumpkin everyday this week to help make 5 LITTLE PUMPKINS Sitting on a Gate. This is the finger play we have been working on this month. Painting on the art easel allows us to work our arm muscles as we have to move the paint brush up and down.
NOAH'S PROMISE: Today we talked about during our Jesus Time that Noah built and Ark to protect the animals from the flood God was going to send and after the flood God sent a Rainbow as a promise. Today we painted our hands white to make the clouds for a rainbow and then we used the bingo daubers to make a rainbow connecting to the two clouds to help us remember God's promise. Painting our hands allowed us to work on our sensory in take as it is something that feels funny our hands and may not always be the most pleasant feeling we also were able to work on our color identification as we identified each color that we used for the rainbow as well as our pre writing skills as we used the bingo daubers to make our rainbow.
Cutting: Today we continued to cut strips of orange paper to add to our jack o'lantern. We will continue to do this all month long till our Jack O'lantern is completely filled up. This is a great way for us to work on our cutting skills and our fine motor skills as we pick up the pieces of paper and place them in our Jack O'lantern.
Water Color: Today we watercolored a jack o'lantern wearing a witches hat. We worked on how to hold the paint brush and how it is important that we do not continue to paint in the same area of the paper to much because our paper will eventually rip. This beautiful paintings are displayed on the door in our room. Be sure to look at them next week when you drop your child off.
Marble Painting: We made orange pumpkins today to add to our Fall Scene on the wall today. We used marbles to paint with as we rolled them back in forth in a large container. Our pumpkins turned out really neat and we had to really work on our self-control as we moved the marbles back in forth.

Morning Meeting
HAPPY THURSDAY! After singing our Morning Song we did the calendar and we talked about the black cat on our calendar card. We then sang our Weather song and decided that is was CLOUDY and COOL outside today. We counted three teachers, clapped three times, counted three mice and three farm animals to help us learn about the number 3. We talked about the shape of a circle and how there is no beginning and no end and a pumpkin is the shape of a circle and is the color orange which allowed us to roll right into putting different items on our orange board for us to identify the object and color. We then practiced our pattern of the month of candy corn and jack o'lanterns and practiced counting to 10. 5 Little Pumpkins Sitting on A Gate was up next during morning meeting ask your little one if they can do some of it for you. We finished up our morning meeting with a book title PUMPKIN HEADS. We closed our time together at Morning Meeting with our prayer.

Transition Time and Snack
We are starting to really understand listening for our name, waiting our turn to put our pumpkin on the board. After we washed our hands we had snack.

Commons Play /Jesus Time/End of the Day
We were not able to to go outside due to all the rain we got last night. So we took a nice short trip to the commons to play for a little while. When we were done we came back to our classroom and had Jesus Time. We read about Noah and then watched a video about Noah where they sang the Story. We then prayed to God. We had time to sing our ABC"s and the Itsy Bitsy Spider and then we watched two short pumpkin videos on 5 Little Pumpkins sitting on a Gate and 5 Little Pumpkins who were, happy, grumpy, Sleepy, Sad and funny. We then had time to play the matching game of colors with acorns. A great end to our day at school!
